Reunion College sessions. Among the many sessions on the weekend program, these special ones were organized by and/or feature ’76 classmates:
- Staying Fit – Fitness as We Age, Aging Younger (Friday, 10am Studio 301, Huntington Gym)
A high energy, interactive workshop that will share tips and techniques for injury prevention, mobility, and inner-core activation. Led by classmate Lee Cuthbert (who conquered 43 marathons!) and wellness coach Al Gonzales. - Midway to the Tri-Centennial: Reflections on the Evolution of the Great American Experiment, 2026 versus 1976 (Friday, 1pm, Love Auditorium in Olin Hall)
Class of 1976 members will share recollections of the bicentennial as young adults, the evolution of the “Great American Experiment” over the past 50 years, and thoughts on where we stand and may be heading. Join this lively panel discussion about personal stories of raising grandchildren against backdrops of multicultural families, step family dynamics, war torn geographies, and strong alumni networks. The conversation will explore how love, humor, courage and resilience shape the modern grandparent experience while offering practical insights. - Peace and Conflict Studies Firesde Chat: Life Trajectories in Peace and Conflict Studies After Colgate (Friday 3pm, 111 Alumni Hall)
Several generations of Peace and Conflict Studies alumni and current faculty will explore how this unique interdisciplinary field affected their careers and lives after Colgate, and invite audience contributions as well. Retirement raises two fundamental questions—how to make your savings last and how to leave the legacy you desire—whether you’re already retired or just planning for it. This session offers clear, actionable guidance on financial and legal steps that can protect your future and honor your values. Come with your concerns and leave with a confident roadmap for the next chapter. - If I Only Had a Brain: A Career in Creativity with Bruce Morser ’76 (Saturday 2:30pm The Vault in Bernstein Hall)
Ever notice how the Scarecrow in the Wizard of Oz worries about not having a brain, but solves many problems? Creativity is difficult to pin down. A fan of the Scarecrow, Bruce Morser will use examples from his wide-ranging career in the arts to describe a joyful, unschooled approach to a career in creativity, and why his Colgate education was particularly good preparation
